Use the Library

The Library is where people and agents find the shared material they can work from. It can hold documents, tables, images and Skills, organized in folders.

Find something

Search by what you need, not only by file name. Your connected agent can search the same workspace from its own conversation.

Select the search icon in the Library, or press S or /, to open the search dialog. The dialog searches rooms, documents, folders, and settings together and shows a short list. The icon on each row shows what the row is. To see every Library result, select All Library results at the end of the list. The Library then shows the full results with your filters. There, documents and folders appear in one list: name matches first, then documents that contain your words, then similar documents. Each result shows its icon and its title. Select a document that contains your words to open it at the line where they appear. Press the Down arrow to move from the field into the results, and Esc to clear the search.

Your filters also apply to search results. The active filters stay above the list. When the filters hide every result, choose Clear filters. When the search covers active documents only and finds nothing, choose Include archived documents. Your search words stay in the field.

Press Ctrl + K (⌘ + K on a Mac) from anywhere in the app to open the same search dialog. The search icon in Rooms opens it too, and All Rooms results shows the full room results. Press Esc to close the dialog; the focus returns to the control that opened it. In Settings, Ctrl + K searches the settings only.

Before you type, the dialog lists the documents and rooms that you opened most recently in this workspace, newest first. The list is yours: other members cannot see it. A document or room is added only when it opens. A preview or a search does not add it. When you lose access to a document or room, or it is deleted, it leaves the list. On a large screen, the row that you move to with the arrow keys or the pointer shows a preview beside the list: the first lines of a document, the summary of a room, the first items of a folder, or a short description of a setting. The preview is read-only, and the focus stays in the search field. On a phone or tablet, tap a row to open it.

Ask an agent
Find our current launch plan and tell me the three decisions that affect engineering this week. Use the approved ArtifactBridge documents.

Create something new

Choose New document when the work should start in ArtifactBridge. Publish it when it is ready for other people and agents to use.

Follow changes

ArtifactBridge keeps versions and change history. When a managed document changes, you can see what changed and who made the decision.

Organize documents in folders

Create a folder for a project, client, or topic. Use nested folders when the material needs a second level. A document is filed in one folder at a time; moving it changes its location without creating a copy. Unfiled documents remain in the Library.

  1. Create the folder from New.
  2. Use a document’s Move to folder… action to choose its destination.
  3. Use Duplicate only when you need a separate document.
  4. Select several documents to use the available bulk actions. Read the confirmation when an operation affects access.

A move into a private folder can require an explicit access decision. Read which people will keep access before confirming. A copied link alone never grants access.

Give an agent a project folder

Use Copy context on a folder. Choose a current conversation, a Claude project, or a Codex project. The copied instructions tell the agent to read the live folder and then retrieve relevant documents. They do not freeze the folder contents. See Copy folder context.

Set folder defaults

Open Folder settings to choose the audience and whether agents can make direct changes to new documents. Audience describes whether content is intended for people, agents, or both. It does not grant or remove access. Check an existing document’s own settings before assuming a folder default changed it.

Read the document and its context

  • Document: the current content.
  • History: earlier versions and recorded changes. Open an older version to inspect what was true at that point.
  • Map: document connections where available.
  • Details: metadata, tags, authorship, links, backlinks, and connected Rooms.

Links point from this document to other material. Backlinks show documents that cite this one. Rooms show discussions attached to the document. These connections help you check where a statement came from and where it is being used.

Star and follow useful material

Use Star to mark a document, folder, or Room for yourself. A yellow star marks starred items. Use the Starred filter in Library or Rooms to find them, and Unstar to remove the mark. Starring does not move items to the top of the list. Your stars follow you across devices. For updates about a document, use its notification controls in Document settings. Starring, notifications, and sharing serve different purposes.

  • Default: uses the normal notification behavior.
  • Watching: follows changes and questions that need attention.
  • Muted: hides routine activity from the All feed; mentions can still notify you.

Archive, restore, duplicate, or delete

Archive material you no longer want in the active collection. Use the archived view and Unarchive to restore it. Duplicate a document when the new work should develop independently. Read the confirmation before deleting: deletion does not have the same recovery path as archiving. Removing a connected document removes it from ArtifactBridge; it does not delete the provider’s original.

Set document behavior

Document settings contains audience, agent-change behavior, and notifications. The owner can change whether agents make direct changes once active proposals are resolved. Sharing controls are separate. See How approval works and Sharing and access.
